We use quite a number of messaging apps here at Tech Travel Geeks. This week we were pleased to hear that Telegram (one of the less popular ones in the UK) has just passed the 200 million monthly active users mark globally.

Why do we use Telegram at Tech Travel Geeks? The app is simple and easy to use. Telegram is secure: it has offered end to end encryption for tears. The stickers are very funny.
200 million active monthly users is a big number, especially for an app which has never advertised itself and relies on true virality to grow.

We extend our congratulations to the makers of Telegram as well as to its users: this may be the beginning of it growing into something bigger, and maybe of it taking on Facebook's own MEssenger and WhatsApp after the recent Cambridge Analytica issue.
